This is the first saddle I've built on a tree by Rod Nikkel, so I wanted to ride it some to see how it fit some different horses, etc. It rides real good in my opinion. The fit on several different horses was great. The only caution I would give is that the bars in this tree are a little longer, so if you ride mostly small colts, and/or very short backed horses, this one might not work the best for you. I am selling this saddle same as new, and I'll guarantee it like a new one. Following are the specs on this saddle:Finished seat length is 16", the cantle is 3 1/2" high, and the #6 horn is 3 1/4" tall. I built this one on a handmade tree by Rod Nikkel, with heavy Buster Welch style fork. 93 degree bars, gullet is 6 1/2"wide by 8" high. This saddle will fit a good variety of horses , middle of the road type stock horses,..but probably won't work for you if you ride very bulldog types and/or very short backed horses. It is made to ride like a ranch cutter, but is stout to handle all ranch work, including roping what ever needs to be done. Built with heavy Herman Oak leather, all stainless steel hardware, and plate rigged 7/8 position. The fork and rear jockeys are basket stamped with a carlos border, the balance of the saddle is rough out. The fenders are my ranch cutter style, with 1/2 leathers. It will come complete with full length latigo tie straps both sides, and flank cinch. $2650, plus shipping. This is a nice deal, as the price is below my base price.
